Child Curriculum:
This curriculum is an excellent breakdown of how riding lessons can be tailored to different age groups and their developmental needs, including attention spans and physical abilities. Here's a quick overview of how attention spans typically align with the various age groups:
Understanding the typical attention span for each age group allows lessons to be designed to keep riders engaged, challenged, and excited about their progress.
Age Recommendations for Starting Riding:
The stable is just minutes from prestigious shopping centers and within a mile of four highly rated golf courses. Downtown is only fifteen minutes from the beautiful State Capital, the University of Wisconsin, Overture Center, and the famous State Street promenade. Nearby schools include Madison’s(Paul Olson, Jefferson & Memorial), Middleton-Cross Plains schools (West Middleton) & Verona Schools.
Instructors at the stables are selected for their skills and experience with people and the love of the horse.
Be sure to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes in comfortable clothing that allows you to move. This is a working stable; therefore, clothing will likely encounter dirt and dust. White or light-colored clothing is not recommended. Check the Proper Attire page. The stables rent helmets.
Full-day participants should bring their lunch. A refrigerator is available, and tap water is accessible at all times. Please bring a water bottle.
If the City of Madison declarations a Snow Emergency, power outages, health mandates, or other unforeseen events, our stables follow the City of Madison protocols. We will try to inform you prior too. Our team values your time and feels that it is fair to honor the same policies we hold for our customers.
Please contact your Instructor via email before noon; if possible, the onset of illness occurs on the Horse Program day while at the stables; we will separate you from others and ask for your departure.
Mask are not required at the Stables, but please do so to all who feel most comfortable with them.
We have a Restroom at the Stables.
Wheelchair User-Friendly Stables
Parents can join as cheerleaders and supporters for $30 daily for children.
The stable is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, including clothing. Participants are discouraged from bringing personal items beyond what is needed for the day. Please DO NOT bring cell/mobile devices. If you get those items, they will be used on your breaks.
Supply sunscreen and insect repellent before you come to the stables. Our instructors will not be doing that.
The lesson academy horses we teach our horse programs. They vary in skill and temperament from those suited for beginners to those done for riders who compete for national-level for showing competitors.
If you want to come before your Activities, so you are prepared.
No refunds are provided for missed session days.
If you have any concerns about enrolling due to recent circumstances, please refrain from doing so. We prioritize the safety of our riders and staff.
A minimum of 1 participant and a maximum of 10 per day program.

Holiday Camp
October, November, December, January, February, March
5 yrs old - Adults
Adults can stay with youth.
Audit is $30 per day.
If the Adult participates at the exact cost as the Horse Lover.
There are ways to Pay it Forward

We have Horses, Dogs and Cats. So if your Horse Lover has allergies or requires special medical attention. Please inform the instructor about how to handle it.
