  • Must wear long pants (jeans) and closed toes shoes (tennis). 
  • Stables has helmets to Rent 
  • No prior riding experience
  • Leading a horse
  • Horse terminology
  • Grooming
  • Parts/Care of saddle & bridle
  • Walk horses safely
  • Mounting & dismounting
  • Holding reins properly
  • Going through cones courses
  • Posting at a walk
  • Learning about transitions 
  • Sitting trot
  • Posting trot
  • Steering
  • Standing up at a walk “Jockey Stretch” (2 point position)
  • Walking without stirrup irons
  • Halting
  • Reversing
  • Lengthening and shortening reins
  • Carry your tack to/form the tack room with no helper.
  • Demonstrate correct “equitation” form

Advanced Beginner Level 2

  • MUST WEAR PROPER SADDLE SEAT ATTIRE to be in these classes.
  • Spending time solidifying and perfecting the skills learned at the beginner
  • Name grooming tools used.
  • Pick the horse hooves. 
  • Name parts of the tack/equipment
  • Tack your horse correctly. 
  • Holding “Jockey stretch” for two whole trips around the arena.
  • Correctly carry a riding crop.
  • Ride at the walk with no helper.
  • Reverse your horse.
  • Tighten your horse’s girth before mounting
  • Changing diagonal at a trot (sit one)
  • Practicing correct diagonals
  • Reversing at a trot
  • Sitting trot 
  • Adjusting stirrups from the ground
  • Dropping/Picking up of stirrups at the walk
  • Steering in more advanced ways (through cones)
  • Ride with a single, rein.
  • Spacing in the arena
  • Correct cornering
  • Starting/Stopping horse
  • Backing a horse
  • Attending Showdown Fun Series and Horse Adventures

  • Must wear proper Saddle seat Attire to be in these classes.

  • Grooming/tacking a horse independently 
  • Name correct bridle parts.
  • Name correct horse parts.
  • Guide “corner to corner”
  • Understanding cantering leads
  • Circling at the canter
  • Diagonal changes and picking up correct diagonal immediately
  • Workouts
  • Addressing the reins
  • Serpentine (including changes of diagonals)
  • Posting trot without stirrup irons
  • Riding bareback
  • Circling
  • Riding with two reins
  • Using the bridle to help maintain horses balance
  • Washing a horse safely
  • Participating in a Showdown Fun Series

Advance Level 4

Show Owner/Rider

Intermediate Level 3

  • Must be wearing proper attire to be in these classes. 
  • GETTING READY FOR PRIME TIME-ADVANCED
  • Preparing to lease or own a show horse
  • Rigorous and intensetraining for both horse and rider
  • Total care of the horse/tack
  • Cantering without stirrup irons
  • Lead changes
  • Straight lines of rail at trot & canter
  • Posting/Standing up at the canter
  • Making 16-20 stride circles consistently
  • Pivots
  • Different equitation workouts (figure eight, serpentine, etc.)
  • Riding with one iron at a time
  • Riding without feet in stirrup irons at the trot and canter
  • Horses headset
  • Attending Horse shows on a regular

  • Don't just Show up SHOW!!  Ride them like you stoled them…
  • Leasing or owning your own show horse(s)
  • Rigorous and intense training for both horse and rider
  • Total care of the horse/tack
  • Cantering without stirrup irons
  • Lead changes
  • Straight lines of rail at trot & canter
  • Posting/Standing up at the canter
  • Making 16-20 stride circles consistently
  • Pivots
  • Different equitation workouts (figure eight, serpentine, etc.)
  • Riding with one iron at a time
  • Riding without feet in stirrup irons at the trot and canter
  • Horses headset
